The Fan Pendant, by Yan Zi Yin

A cool, distant girl saves him at the River of Forgetfulness. A hundred years of solitude in the underworld of the Nine Provinces. Returning to the starry heavens, he finds himself imprisoned, and a shocking reversal leaves good and evil hard to tell apart.

By the River of Forgetfulness, he met that cool, distant girl.

One glance was all it took to bind them for a lifetime.

After enduring trial after trial, they gradually came together. Only then did he learn that it had not been their first meeting.

I still remember the first time we met among the flowers, your red sleeve half hiding your face as you turned your lightly made-up cheek.

If there is another life, he asks for nothing else. He only hopes to guard her with his life and spend that lifetime by her side.
