Three years ago, just after her father died, fifteen-year-old Chen Yu developed a delusion that she was a cat. She spent all day hanging out with the neighbor's dog. Her mother couldn't stand it anymore and dragged her over to the home of their neighbor, Jiang Ting, her childhood friend, who was studying psychology.
“Come on, say hello to your big brother Jiang Ting.”
Chen Yu blinked and timidly asked, “Big brother, are you a kitty too?”

Three years later, everyone at F University had heard of Chen Yu, the psychology department's first-year beauty. She was amazing at street dance, beautiful, sweet-voiced, and had a great figure. Plenty of boys had fallen for her, openly or secretly, but none could win her over.
Rumor had it Chen Yu had a childhood friend who was her boyfriend, but she kept him hidden and wouldn't let anyone see him. Everyone speculated that he was an ugly guy she was ashamed of.
Then one day, Chen Yu strutted around with F University's psychology department heartthrob, Jiang Ting, a graduate student, leaving everyone stunned.

Jiang Ting remembered clearly the afternoon he saw her again three years ago. The late spring sunlight fell on her through the branches of a white magnolia. He was startled by how much she had grown and changed. She was as beautiful as he had imagined she would be when they were children, but not as happy as he had imagined.
When they met again, she looked up at him and timidly asked, “Big brother, are you a kitty too?”
But her eyes were moist and jewel-like. For a moment, he really thought she looked like a cat.
Jiang Ting's heart melted completely, and from then on he fell into the little kitty's trap.

1. Content warning: Half of the heroine's delusions are an act; her real “illness” lies elsewhere. She doesn't go to university until the middle or later part of the story. The early focus is on high school life. The male lead has never been the heroine's therapist, nor has he ever tried to be. There is no doctor-patient relationship between the leads.
