[After I Gained Mind Reading, I Heard the Campus Heartthrob Calling Me Baby in His Thoughts]

When Xuan Fan realized he could hear the thoughts of his aloof roommate, he was completely stunned.

Qi Yi, standing before him, was A University's universally acknowledged campus heartthrob. He had a high nose bridge, a cool gaze, and an aura that said, "Stay away." Whenever he spoke to Xuan Fan, he was stingy with his words, saying only two at a time.

But what Xuan Fan heard was:

"Baby's wearing a white T-shirt today. So cute."

"Stay away from that guy. Don't smile at him so sweetly."

"I want to hug him so badly. Would he hit me?"

Xuan Fan: "???"

He secretly observed Qi Yi and realized the aloof heartthrob really was acting strange:

- On the surface, he tossed back the blanket Xuan Fan had left on the sofa. In his thoughts, he was screaming, "Baby's scent! I have to treasure it!"

- He complained that Xuan Fan's instant noodles were too spicy, then went out and bought stomach medicine, all the while grumbling to himself, "You're such an idiot. Don't you know you can't eat spicy food?"

- Even when Xuan Fan accidentally touched his hand, Qi Yi's ears turned red, and his thoughts were already scrolling by: "Ahhh, he touched me! I have to wash my hand ten times to preserve the scent!"

Charmed by this adorable contrast, and uncertain about his own sexuality, Xuan Fan began approaching Qi Yi almost as if possessed.

Until one day, he heard Qi Yi thinking:

"I want to kiss Baby's lips."

"Baby's neck looks so biteable."

"Come a little closer, and I'll make sure you can never leave me."

Xuan Fan: "!!!"

Terrified, he packed his things in the middle of the night and started avoiding Qi Yi.

But what he never expected was that Qi Yi really disappeared.

He vanished from Xuan Fan's sight, and the heart-fluttering voice in his mind disappeared with him.

No more "Good morning, Baby" every day. No one quietly brought him hot milk when he stayed up late working on a report. For the first time, Xuan Fan realized he had already grown used to that cold-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside presence.

Torn between hope and fear, he finally understood his own feelings and worked up the courage to find Qi Yi. "Qi Yi, I..."

Qi Yi interrupted him, his expression unreadable. "I know what you want to say. I won't bother you again."

Xuan Fan panicked. "No! I was trying to say that I like you!"

Qi Yi froze, his ears instantly turning bright red.

The next second, a familiar voice exploded in Xuan Fan's mind, louder than ever before:

"!!! Baby said he likes me!!! System! Hurry! Get the ring I hid! I'm proposing right now!"

Xuan Fan: "..."

Wait, System? What System?

Only later did Xuan Fan learn that Qi Yi had traded mission points with the System for his mind-reading ability; his sudden disappearance had been a terrible idea from some scheming adviser; and this aloof campus heartthrob had claimed him as his own from the very first moment they met.

"Baby can only be mine."

After they married, Qi Yi held Xuan Fan in his arms. His thoughts were still possessive, but his touch was so gentle it could melt your heart. "No one can steal you from me."

Nestled in his arms, Xuan Fan listened to the endless thoughts meant only for him and smiled until his eyes curved.

So all those heart-stirring thoughts he'd heard had never been a figment of his imagination.
