Everyone loves Qi En, the delicate, frail, sweet and beautiful young master of the Duke of Howell's household, whose eyes always hold a trace of sadness.
Across this vast land, every city has a statue of Young Master Qi En. People love him to the point of obsession, even traveling from far away just to glimpse the boy's petal-soft, lovely face.
Yet Qi En, adored by countless people, is not happy.
He doesn't like any of his admirers. Not one.
His heart already belongs to the perfect object of his affection, even though the other is only a figure in a stained-glass window.
One day, the forest wizard Mo Er said to Qi En, "I know a way to bring the figure in the stained glass to life. Would you like to try it?"
Qi En nodded.
The wizard chuckled and handed him a small bottle. "It's simple. I only need a little of your pure tears to cast a spell and make your dream come true."
On the night of the full moon, Qi En knelt before the stained-glass window once again, waiting as promised.
As the clock struck twelve, a burst of white light flared. A man clad in golden armor, holding a longsword and radiating magnificence, slowly stepped out of the window.
Qi En stared wide-eyed as the man walked up to him, as he curled his lips into a faint smile, as he drew his longsword, and as he used it to pierce Qi En's heart.
"Young Master, you're really easy to fool," the man said with a smile.
"Mo Er... next time... hug me first..." Qi En said, then slowly closed his eyes. Everything reset once more.
