While Jing Yu was working hard to pay her living expenses, Klaus happened to catch sight of her. The brief glimpse stayed with him for a long time.

This blue-eyed, blond gentleman politely made a request of Jing Yu, who was working her way through school.

He would help her out of her current predicament, provide her with a stable place to live, and pay her a generous salary.

His one condition was that she cooperate with him in psychological treatment.

After listening as he listed all the terms, Jing Yu silently downed a whole glass of water.

Klaus asked gently, “I’m sorry. Have I offended you?”

“No,” Jing Yu said. “I wouldn’t even dream of asking for this much.”

-

Four years later, with their agreement about to expire, Klaus hinted that they might consider taking things further and getting married.

Jing Yu was horrified. “Please don’t sully our pure financial relationship with feelings!!!”

[I’ve done my best to clearly list the potential pitfalls. Please read everything, and if you don’t like something, stop reading right away. Don’t put yourself through it QAQ]

1. The male lead is half Chinese and half German, with a Chinese maternal grandmother. Neither has exes. They have an eight-year age gap.

2. The heroine is sharp-tongued, values money, and enjoys earning it. This is not a story about a strong, independent heroine.

3. The male lead has some psychological issues, but he won’t break the law or commit crimes. He hires the heroine to assist with his treatment, and they help each other. Additional note: He has White Knight Syndrome, a strong desire to rescue and help his partner, and a tendency to be controlling. His characterization is meant to be balanced, and he won’t harm the heroine.

4. At first, the heroine values money more than love. Later, they may become equally important. If this bothers you, read with caution.

5. The characters’ values do not necessarily reflect the author’s. The author encourages everyone to work hard, study hard, and do their best at work. Only knowledge, work experience, and money won’t betray you.

6. Please don’t mention any real-life celebrities or people. No real-world references.

Theme: Love knows no borders and can transcend cultural differences
