Florence at Dawn

On the eve of her departure for a foreign country alone, Midi received news that filled her with dread: Her father had contacted a junior schoolmate of his who was also in Italy, asking him to "check in" on her regularly. Luckily, the man couldn't show up because of work. Midi spent a free week abroad with no one keeping an eye on her. She took a liking to a handsome, blond-haired, blue-eyed man and went on two very enjoyable dates with him. When she learned her "chaperone" was coming to visit, Midi regretfully told her date they couldn't see each other again, then dutifully returned to her apartment to resume life as a well-behaved bookworm. The agreed-upon time for their meeting arrived. The doorbell rang. Midi opened the door and stared in shock at the blond-haired, blue-eyed man outside. "I told you we'd meet again," he said with a smile. "Good morning." * On the evening they officially became a couple, they solemnly signed a dietary non-aggression pact to keep their love going for the long term. One: Midi must not put pineapple on Federico's pizza. Two: Federico must not make dumplings filled with strawberry chicken for Midi. Theme: Love born from food
