With a snap of her fingers, Dottore smiled and chatted as his segments vanished into thin air.
After dying because of a plot-kill, Wuyai learned that she had transmigrated into a game. She'd become one of its villains: the Fatui Harbinger known as "The Doctor," one of Dottore's segments.
When Wuyai regained consciousness, the game had restarted, and she had returned to the moment of her birth.
Through the glass of her pod, filled with nutrient fluid, she saw a man in a conical mask. His voice, however, sounded in her mind, soft and languid:
"Welcome to the world, younger me."
Wuyai looked at Dottore. His health bar was so long she couldn't see its end.
She couldn't beat him, and she'd die in the future anyway.
So she decided to give up trying.
Before transmigrating, wasn't she a beautiful young woman in the prime of her life? Now she'd suddenly grown a little extra flesh, so Wuyai immediately decided to get it surgically removed.
Listening to the segments chattering away in her head, she figured she was in her early years, which meant adolescence, so she simply cut off the channel.
If she wasn't going to start dating young, when would she? Whenever Wuyai saw someone she liked, she'd rush over and shout, "Hello, marry me."
When she saw that someone hated her, all the better. Wuyai decided to disguise herself and win over that smug Scaramouche.
Don't ask why. She's just into the enemies-to-lovers trope.
And when someone wouldn't leave her alone, she'd point at another segment and put on an innocent face. "Go find Dottore. What does that have to do with me, the Doctor?"
Live in the moment, and be a player without any ambiguity.
She did whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted. Her rebellious, inscrutable manner somehow made the image of "The Doctor" even more mysterious.
#Dottore's reputation suffers#
But there was one thing she couldn't give up on.
That was: "Get rid of the original as soon as possible and take his place!"
Reading Guide:
1. This is a freewheeling story about getting stronger and dating all kinds of people. Expect doppelganger romances and love triangles, most likely.
2. The heroine's soul is female. She has a boy's body at first, but will get a new one later (?), so this is a romance.
3. OOC warning. The people of Teyvat will be tormented as they get a glimpse of the mental state of a deranged modern internet user.
4. No way, Mista!
Theme: Keep striving, surpass yourself, take charge, and see it through to the end.
