People called him the "Number One Unexpected Ninja." Whenever he heard Kakashi-sensei call him that, he would loudly protest. As he grew older, though, he usually just laughed it off.
Then, on his way to the afterlife, he was stopped by Grandpa Hagoromo, who told him that ten years after his death, the Otsutsuki Clan would invade Earth and plunge the ninja world into darkness. He needed to be reborn and stop it all.
Naruto was shocked at first. Then he thought about how something like this could happen to him of all people, and suddenly wondered if there might be some truth to the nickname Kakashi had given him.
He was more than happy to go back. At last, he would be able to tell that person the feelings he'd kept to himself.
