[Pre-Release]
The similar-setting novel The Cult Leader Alice is complete. Click the author’s page to check it out, and feel free to follow the page!
The setting combines Bungo Stray Dogs, Cultist Simulator, and a touch of Lovecraftian summoning.
The Anti-Cult Bureau is an organization established specifically to deal with certain "special" secret cults.
During an operation, Mori Ougai, the youngest director in the bureau's history, who had overcome countless hardships to reach the position, was killed after being outmaneuvered by the rebel Dazai Osamu.
After his death, he sacrificed his most precious ritual familiar, Alice, and only barely passed the Trial of the Blade Steps. He survived by becoming the Girl in the Mirror, although the gender was a little off.
Many years later, Mori Ougai, former director of the Anti-Cult Bureau, returned to the bureau.
Afterward, now a supernatural being himself, Mori Ougai cited his "advanced age and inability to shoulder important duties" and became a detective nominally attached to the bureau, withdrawing from its inner circle. Retired amateur detective Mori Ougai was caught up in a tangle of intersecting histories and entered an unknown history. In this world that appeared to be governed by science alone, he chose to open a detective agency in the thriving city of Beika and settle down for retirement.
However, Mori Ougai, now a being of the occult, soon discovered that his power came from the influence exerted by his selves in other histories.
As a result, Mori Ougai had no choice but to maintain his influence across a chaotic web of interwoven histories: one that seemed to be governed by science alone, another in which the familiar Alice from one of his own histories had become a Mafia boss, and the original history in which he was born. To put it simply:
Bad news: Mr. Mori can never retire;
Good news: Mr. Mori will never go bald!
1. The author’s headcanon is extensive. Pairings are up to the reader to interpret. (A friendly reminder: this story is categorized as having no romance.)
2. This is written as if I’ve never played Cultist Simulator, so not having played the game won’t affect your reading experience at all.
3. The story doesn’t follow the main plots of any of the works.
4. There will be major differences from the game’s setting.
5. Go play Cultist Simulator, or I’ll get down on my knees and beg you.
Message: Protecting the world is everyone’s responsibility.
