I Just Want to Be an Ordinary Person

(The update time has changed to 6 p.m.! The full manuscript is complete! Now waiting for you all to pick an extra chapter, mwah!) Wu Wenbie has been surrounded by mentally ill people for as long as he can remember, so his dream was to attend an ordinary university and study an ordinary major. Unfortunately, because of his background, he still ended up majoring in folklore. But that's fine! As long as his classmates are normal! . After living with them for a while, though, Wu Wenbie realized there was something off about his roommates. For example, their dorm head was always praised by his classmates for his “divine face and compassionate gaze, like an angel descended to earth.” But he liked to cosplay as a demon in the dorm, sitting on the balcony in the middle of the night with enormous skeletal wings that would make the curtains quit on the spot, sighing gloomily: “I hate angels most of all.” For example, the second roommate was always praised as “a classic handsome, dark-skinned muscleman, like a cheetah roaming the grasslands.” But late at night, he would soak in the empty swimming pool while cosplaying as a mermaid. His dazzling fish tail, bought from who-knows-where, shimmered in every color of the rainbow, making the pool's neon lights look dull: “I really will die without water.” For example, the third roommate from the dance department was always praised as “a waist spirit, the most seductive person in the world.” But in the middle of the night, he would sit cross-legged on a bed decorated like a shrine and open one little ball of paper after another. “So many people made wishes to me today, too.” Wu Wenbie fell into deep thought, then accepted an invitation to move in with Zhuang Yu, an ordinary man who just happened to be ridiculously handsome. . And so, much later Wu Wenbie shoved away Zhuang Yu, who had started biting him again after yet another kiss. “Zhuang Yu, you bastard, put your bite guard on!!!” The original version of the blurb was captured in March 2022. The entertainment-industry setting was later removed; screenshot dated November 20, 2023. P.S. As for why this is listed under fan works: the story features a lot of creatures and mythological beings from the Classic of Mountains and Seas and myths from China and abroad, but it also has lots of original worldbuilding! It even borrows a few details from certain comics~ It's kind of like an AU? (pondering) Coming April 2: a sweet little story, My Roommate's Prey Has Its Eyes on Me Wen Xulan has a roommate who's a campus heartthrob. Supposedly he turned lots of straight guys gay in high school, with an impressive track record. Their other two roommates don't believe it, so they bet he can't win over the school's aloof campus idol. . Cen Yuan, the aloof campus idol at Jiugang University, is a student in the up-and-coming esports program. He's supposedly a straight-up homophobe who keeps his distance from women and men alike, with only bros and no romance. But lately, Wen Xulan has often seen him showing up at their group events after being invited by their heartthrob roommate. After hesitating a few times, Wen Xulan, though aware that Cen Yuan was no simple person, still warned his senior when they were alone: “They're using you in a bet.” To his surprise, the senior raised an eyebrow and smiled carelessly. “I know. But I didn't come for him. I came for you.” Wen Xulan: “...???” . When Cen Yuan was on the commentary desk and viewers started wildly shipping him with someone, he shut it down in front of hundreds of thousands of people. “Please stop shipping me with random people. I have someone. I've been pursuing him for a long time. And if the person at home doesn't get jealous, it honestly makes me sad.” Everyone: “...?” Huh??? Is something not right here?
