Breakup Fee, Hand It Over [Entertainment Industry]

Shen Songwan, known as "KBS's Number One Beauty," works as a newly hired production assistant in KBS's variety department. As a side gig, she works for the Space-Time Administration. Well, she's practically half a System. She had been doing the side job for less than a year when the Space-Time Administration underwent a sweeping reform. The main System issued a new rule called the "Cooling-Off Period for Unbinding": if a System and its Host wanted to unbind, they had to go through a 100-day cooling-off period. Once it was over, they could officially unbind only if both parties agreed. The work efficiency of countless Systems plummeted as a result, and the Space-Time Administration was awash with complaints. Shen Songwan, however, had a sudden inspiration and spotted a way to make money. While every other System wanted to unbind, she did the opposite. She waited for the right moment, bound herself to wealthy, generous Hosts, then shamelessly wreaked havoc in their minds until they were fed up and applied to unbind. Shen Songwan: Want to unbind from me? Sure, just pay me a "breakup fee"~ With this secret to wealth in hand, Shen Songwan, who was broke and buried in debt, forced to share a rooftop apartment with someone else, quickly rose out of poverty and made a fortune in just six months. But no secret stays hidden forever. The people she had extorted gradually began to catch on. Then one day, a man she had swindled cornered her in the convenience store inside the KBS building. "Shen Songwan? Or should I call you System 041? The game of hide-and-seek is over. Don't you think it's time to give my money back?" Shen Songwan kept her face cold, but inside she was fuming helplessly: Screw you! Weren't you supposed to protect System privacy? Do temps have no rights? Content warnings: This is a Korean entertainment RPF-inspired work. Please don't read if that bothers you. The female lead is greedy, selfish, petty, likes to exploit loopholes and take advantage of others, has a messy love life and questionable morals, and is two-faced. Don't be like her. 2021.5.15 Theme: Getting something for nothing is not the way.
