I Received a Gift from Earth

In 2020, China sent a space probe named Jinwu to Mars. Just as it was about to land, it suddenly veered off its planned course.

The large screen in the lab went pitch-black. The scientists looked grave. They couldn't contact the Jinwu probe, and silence spread unchecked.

Three years passed. Humanity seemed to have found the wreckage of Jinwu, and the mission could almost be declared a failure.

Humanity's exploration of the universe had never stopped, from ancient times to the present. Just as the scientists were preparing to send another probe to Mars, the old lab suddenly sounded an alarm.

The Jinwu probe had sent a signal! It also transmitted an image that delighted the scientists.

It was a close-up of a girl's face. She stared straight at Jinwu, her eyes full of curiosity.

Youmi was the little princess of the royal family of the planet Liya. With three older brothers, she was doted on by everyone.

One day, a pitch-black object fell into her garden. It was even worse than her shabbiest toy.

But it could send out signals she couldn't understand.

After deciphering them, she found:

Where are you?

Who are you?

Why aren't you eating?

Food? Youmi pondered this.

Across billions of light-years, two planets began a long conversation.

P.S. I watched a video about space exploration while scrolling through a short-video app this morning, and suddenly wanted to write this story.

The blurb was screenshotted on May 14, 2021.

Theme: Two planets learn from each other, communicate and make progress together, and share the future.
