Look at My Tail QAQ

Mi Wu is a little kitten who gets kicked off the mountain by his grandpa for eating too much.

The wronged little kitten has no choice but to head down the mountain in search of food. After taking human form and entering the human world, he gets tricked by an unscrupulous production crew with the promise of a free meal into joining a talent show.

The talent show is a huge production, with top-tier stars as mentors. The music mentor, Song Jingtang, is especially popular: handsome, talented, and well-connected. Apart from his awful temper, he's practically perfect.

On the first night of auditions, Song Jingtang wears a gloomy expression and has nothing nice to say to anyone.

Then it's the kitten's turn. He's only been practicing for two days. He goes onstage and sings a song. He's off-key and can't hit the high notes, but at least his voice sounds nice.

Song Jingtang's gaze sharpens. He is about to give his blunt assessment, but when he meets the kitten's big, dewy eyes, he changes his tune. “There's room for improvement.”

Mi Wu: That strawberry cake next to him looks so tempting. I want some ovo

After the show airs, Mi Wu gains countless adoptive moms, and the whole country joins the online kitten-raising plan.

Dried fish, the cub loves those. Send some.

Biscuits, for the cub to chew on. Send some.

Cake will go bad if we mail it, so I have to deliver it in person.

Mi Wu remembers Grandpa's warning before he came down the mountain: “Humans are all liars, sly and treacherous.”

Mi Wu rolls around on the bed, contentedly patting his belly stuffed with snacks. Humans are actually amazing, he thinks.

Still, even kittens have their troubles.

Mi Wu is forced to memorize lyrics and practice dancing. If he doesn't, they won't feed him. The little cat huddles in a corner, whimpering, and secretly opens a can of cat food with his back to the camera.

A hand suddenly lands on Mi Wu's shoulder.

Mi Wu turns around and sees the mentor with the terrible temper.

Holding the can of cat food, Mi Wu is terrified Song Jingtang will think he has a weird eating disorder. That would be scandalous, and if he gets exposed, he'll be kicked off the show. Then he won't get any food.

The little kitten acts fast, placing a hand along the hem of his pants. “I'll show you my tail QAQ, just don't tell anyone.”

Song Jingtang: ???

*

Song Jingtang once picked up a little kitten and took him home on a whim.

He never expected the kitten to be so fussy, both in temperament and taste. The slightest dissatisfaction would make him meow furiously and pitifully. Then, afraid Song Jingtang might get mad, he'd offer up his tail to be petted.

The tail felt so good that Song Jingtang started leaving work right on time every day to clock in for his cat-petting shift.

But one day, Song Jingtang came home to find the kitten missing. After searching for days, he found a pretty little idol among the talent show's contestants whose personality was a lot like his cat's.

Later, one night, the bad-tempered mentor pulls his arms in and holds the pretty, adorable little idol even tighter.

His voice is enticing. “Kitten, show me your tail again.”

Mi Wu covers his tail. “Wuwu... I'm not showing you anymore.”
