Blurb 1:

Years ago, in a terrible fire, he appeared like a god and rescued her, filthy and covered in soot.

She followed in his footsteps for years, her love for him sinking into her very bones.

He had only two dreams in life.

Before meeting Gu Yuan, his entire life was devoted to his dream of becoming a police officer.

After meeting Gu Yuan, he cut his lifelong dream of being a police officer down to seven years.

He knew that her gentle features were warm and kind, but concealed a sharp edge.

He said, "Don't dirty your hands for me."

But later, that gentle woman, who seemed to have stepped out of the misty rain of Jiangnan, bared sharp fangs and claws for his sake.

He once promised her, "Gu Yuan, I love being a narcotics officer, but I love you too. When I turn thirty, I'll take off my uniform and marry you."

Later, he took off that uniform.

He stood outside the glass, while she stood inside.

Looking at her with tearful eyes, he said, "Yuanyuan, you were always the one waiting for me. This time, let me wait for you."

Blurb 2:

The night was dark, and a corner of the moon was missing. In an alley, Gong Xu was beaten until he was covered in blood.

She stood in the light, and he couldn't make out her face.

But lying in the shadows, beyond the reach of the light, he saw her clearly.

That was the first time he met her.

The next time he saw her was at the hospital. After making himself throw up and spinning around fifteen times, he spotted her in a daze.

When he handed the doctor’s report to the police, Lu Siyue glanced at it: suspected brainstem damage.

She half-lowered her eyelids, letting her gaze roam boldly over his filthy white hoodie, and smiled with ambiguous meaning. "You're quite something!"

Later, he pinned her in a corner and looked at her with an expression both obedient and wild. "You asked me to come home with you before..."
