A Redemption Too Late

When Lan An was fourteen, he brought home a girl who looked like a beggar, named her Lan Meng, and treated her like a princess, giving her all the food and drink she could want. But in the end, someone else reaped the rewards.

Eight years later, she returned, her body covered in whip marks.

"Brother Lan, can you take me in for a few days?"

"My place isn't a shelter. You come and go as you please. What do you take me for?"

Devoted, scheming male lead, Lan An, and gentle, innocent girl, Lan Meng

Bad ending...
