She's More Tart and Sweet Than Cherries

Cheng Yuan's father is a notorious, twisted serial killer.

But no one knows that he's also the hottest crime novelist around.

The Madman in the Asylum, The Stairway to Hell, The Wilds Encroach...

Every one of his books has over 600,000 saves.

Society's prejudice against him has already condemned him for an unforgivable crime.

Everyone keeps their distance.

But in that golden October season, when osmanthus scented the air and golden apricot leaves covered the ground,

a tousle-haired girl with faint dimples leaned on his shoulder and slept the whole way.

After secretly following him once, she was cornered against a wall when Cheng Yuan suddenly turned and took two steps toward her.

He looked at the dimples in her cheeks, brimming with curiosity, and asked in a low, hoarse voice, "Why are you following me?"

She stood there dazed for a long while before pulling a cherry candy from her pocket and holding it out to him.

"I made it myself. It's really sweet."

He turned and strode away, taking the candy from her palm before he left.
