A Supporting Female Character's Life Matters Too [Period]

When Liu Xuan woke up one morning, she discovered that she had become beautiful. The young men in the village all fawned over her. Just as she was trying to figure out what was going on, a relative came by to arrange a match for her.

Well, seeing how beautiful Liu Xuan had become, they promptly switched the prospective groom from Er Gouzi of the neighboring village to the son of a county director.

But no one knew that the director's son liked another girl, one who had gone to work in the countryside as an educated youth.

Later, he would seek Liu Xuan out specifically to mock and sneer at her, trying to make her give up on marrying him.

Well, Liu Xuan wasn't exactly unwanted. Who did that guy think he was?

What troubled Liu Xuan even more was that this matchmaking had raised her parents' expectations.

They said that since Liu Xuan was so beautiful, she should marry no one below the son of a director.

Liu Xuan: "..."

She felt that what her parents really cared about were the benefits the marriage could bring, like all kinds of things they couldn't normally buy, and the so-called status.

After Liu Xuan told her parents that she absolutely would not marry the director's son, she discovered that she was a supporting female character in a book, whose only purpose was to highlight how steadfast the male and female leads' love was.

Liu Xuan: Couldn't anyone spare a thought for how I feel as a supporting character? My life matters too.

Theme: Focus on what you want to do, and keep working toward it.
