The Loyal Hound Shadow Guard Has Turned Dark

Princess Ji Tan, the most adored and proudest princess in the Wei Kingdom, had lived for eighteen years. On the night of her wedding to the man she loved, her kingdom was destroyed, and he stabbed her without mercy.

When she woke again, her country had fallen, her family was dead, and she had lost everything overnight. The only one left by her side was the loyal, silent bodyguard who had been with her since childhood.

The bodyguard risked his life to save her and quietly stayed at her side.

She wanted silk brocade, so he worked day and night to earn silver, hoping only to dress her in a splendid gown.

She wanted lychees from a hundred miles away, so he traveled for three days just to present her with a plate of fresh Concubine's Smile lychees.

She was used to having people attend to her every need, so he stayed by her side day and night, washing and dressing her, and doing her hair.

Then one day, Ji Tan woke from the old dream she'd been living in.

She swept aside everything the bodyguard had prepared for her.

"Go. I'm tired."

The bodyguard froze. "You don't want me anymore?"

"The Wei Kingdom is gone, and I'm no longer a princess. Go live your own life. Don't live for me anymore."

The bodyguard's eyes reddened.

He approached Ji Tan, dropped to one knee, took her slender fingers in his hand, and gently kissed them.

"My princess, you will always be my master. I will never let you leave me."
