I've Worn Myself Out Worrying About My Guardian Spirit

I'm meeting a clan brother I've never met before, and I'm just a tiny bit nervous. That's because I'm a spirit medium, and the spirits I possess were both killed by the clan brother standing in front of me. Of course, I didn't just pick them up after the fact. Those two spirits were given to me by my wonderful lord... Still, I have to bluff my way past the person in front of me. "Why do you carry memorial tablets with you?" "...Because I practice ghost marriage. Isn't it perfectly normal to carry my husband's memorial tablet?" "But you're carrying two tablets..." "Ghost marriage isn't recognized by modern law. Are you going to sue me for bigamy or something?" I had no intention of acknowledging him as my brother, but... things changed when I found out that my ex-husband had sold my son. "When I was with Toji, he ate my food and used my things, and I was the one who gave birth to his child! Before I left, I was the one raising the kid with my shikigami! And that bastard has married into someone else's family now, so I have nothing to do with him! Megumi's stepmother has run off, and on paper his guardian is his uncle! If we took this to court, he'd absolutely be awarded to us! Right, big bro?" "Right, right!" "My brother even gave you money before. If you ask me, he shouldn't have given you a cent to get Megumi back. Megumi could've had the Gojo name from the start! Isn't that right, big bro?" "That's right, that's right!" "What's so special about the Zenin family? It's not impossible that our Megumi could become the head of the Gojo family one day! Right, big bro?" "That's... huh? You really do take after your ex-husband in that respect." Please note: 1. The heroine is Megumi's mom in this story. It's a rather odd little sweet romance, and it's short. She's an absolutely loyal and capable subordinate who belongs to the villains' faction and shares their ways. If that bothers you, please read with caution. 2. As usual, don't mention me under other people's stories, and don't mention other people under mine. 3. Blurb saved on 2021.1.28, with a section added on 2021.2.25 and edits made on 4.9.
