After the Villainous Merman Sets His Sights on Me

Garcia is a space pirate who loves making money. His favorite things to do are robbing the rich to help the poor and taking all kinds of bizarre, high-paying bounty jobs. He came across a contract to bring a merfolk noble who had run away from home to escape an arranged marriage back to the merfolk. The reward was three resource planets. A job this good? No self-respecting space pirate would turn it down. Garcia went right ahead and charmed the heart of this noble, who seemed handsome and composed but was actually a naive sweetheart, then coaxed him aboard his spaceship and took him straight back to the merfolk homeworld. The merfolk noble learned the truth, his eyes reddening. "Did you ever love me?" Garcia's heart was as hard as stone. "I did love you, the money your family had." He left just like that, tossing a breezy kiss over his shoulder as he said goodbye. A year later, Garcia was tied up tight inside a seashell, looking utterly resigned to his fate. Priceless, enormous gems surrounded him. The merfolk noble wrapped his arms around Garcia from behind and sighed. "The money is yours. Now you're mine."
