After Faking My Death, My Experiment Went Off the Rails

Originally titled The Demon Heeds My Will

A strange meteorite has caused people around the world to contract a mysterious illness, forcing the research institute where Yin Qing works to begin developing a related medicine.

Yin Qing is the institute's youngest and most promising professor.

While everyone else's lab mice are dying, the survival rate of his test subjects is 100%.

Everyone thinks he's humanity's hope.

But Yin Qing never expected that something would go wrong with his experiment. His test subjects suddenly mutated.

In a single night, the apocalypse descended and zombies surrounded the city.

Yin Qing went from humanity's hope to a public enemy, and even staying alive became a problem.

With no other choice, he temporarily changed his appearance and faked his death to survive.

But it seemed he ran into a little trouble along the way:

He encountered Subject No. 520, one of his former test subjects.

No. 520 had become a terrifying Zombie King who sent zombies to attack the research institute every day.

He captured all the professors involved in the project, apparently looking for a chance to take revenge.

Yin Qing, one of the participants, felt a chill run down his spine and fled in the middle of the night.

But after changing his appearance, he was mistaken for a junior researcher and dragged back by the zombies.

Professor Yin stood among a group of trembling junior researchers, watching as Zuo Xiao, now the Zombie King, stood before him once again and repeated, without changing expression, the words Yin Qing had said to him all those years ago:

"New lab mouse, pick a number you like."

Yin Qing was silent for a moment, then slowly looked up and ventured, "520?"

"520 is taken." Zuo Xiao rejected him without hesitation. "520 is reserved for Professor Yin. You can be 250."

Yin Qing: ???????????????

#Could do it, but there's no need#

#I think something's got its eye on me#

#That's weird. Let me take another look#

* One-on-one, mutual firsts, happy ending, younger love interest

* Beautiful, strong, tragic Zombie King gong (Zuo Xiao) x refined, villainous professor shou (Yin Qing)

* An unconventional apocalypse story, total nonsense, with an extremely large number of original worldbuilding elements!

* The shou didn't experiment on people. This will be explained later.

* My Zombie King is incredibly good-looking!!!!! (I'm a sucker for pretty faces, so I make the rules, QAQ)

* Details may change slightly. The story itself will be the final version.
