I'm Your Hater, So You Have to Put Up with Me

Cen Xiao, a former child star, is the widely adored "national big brother."

After transferring schools in his second year of high school, he meets Fu Zhun, a penniless school bully who becomes his roommate.

Apart from his awful temper, his lack of money, and his constant attempts to get Cen Xiao to take a bath with him, Fu Zhun doesn't seem to have any other flaws.

Cen Xiao has finally made a friend, and doesn't mind helping him out now and then.

That is, until Fu Zhun's birthday party.

Once Cen Xiao boards his luxury pirate ship, there's no getting off. :)

Rumor has it that Fu Zhun is two-faced.

After all, as soon as Cen Xiao transfers away, Fu Zhun starts publicly trashing him.

Everyone thinks their fake brotherly friendship has fallen apart.

Then, the day Cen Xiao appears on a boy-band survival show, Fu Zhun's eternally unchanged social media feed suddenly takes a turn:

When this post appears, everyone assumes Fu Zhun's account has been hacked.

Until they see the comment underneath:

[Fu Zhun: Please help me get my ungrateful boyfriend to debut. Thanks. :)]

Everyone: ???

One day, the Fu Group develops a wristband that measures heart rate.

But marketing accounts hype it up as a "heart-flutter wristband" that uses your heartbeat to measure how attracted you are to the person you're looking at.

Cen Xiao and Fu Zhun are both invited to test the product at a live-streamed launch event.

Yet whether they're facing gorgeous women from the entertainment industry or ordinary beauties, the heart-flutter screens behind them stay black.

Viewers: "Ugh, the wristband must be fake."

Then, as they leave the stage, Cen Xiao walks past Fu Zhun, having already taken off his wristband.

Fu Zhun hasn't had time to remove his. The heart-flutter reading on the electronic screen behind him suddenly shoots straight up...

Cen Xiao: "?"

Fu Zhun: "..."

* One-on-one romance, both are each other's first, happy ending

* Younger man, mutual pining

* [Fu Zhun is the top, the top, the top]

* [Cen Xiao is the bottom, the bottom, the bottom]

* School life in the first half, entertainment industry in the second

* Mainly told from the bottom's perspective, with some chapters from the top's perspective too. Come on, everyone, say it one more time: Fu Zhun is the top!

* This silly author's radar for things that might bother readers is weak. If anything upsets you, run without looking back.

* Some scenes are just fun ideas, so there's no need to take them too seriously. Feelings aren't something you can always explain through rational deduction. If you can't understand them, it's just because you're not the people in this story. Don't get caught up in deciding who's right or wrong.

* The details about the college entrance exam system and scores in the story aren't meant to be accurate. They may have changed.

Theme: You can't change where you come from or your family, but you can choose to change yourself.
