You and I, Ablaze

[Please bookmark my new story, Catch That Fish!]

Zhou Jinyi, a member of a popular boy band, has won countless awards over his six years in the industry and is a veteran among his peers. But when it comes to pursuing someone, he has zero experience, both in theory and practice.

After more than a year of slowly getting to know Pei Xinye, outside influences suddenly make him see the light, and he gradually turns into a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

During an MV shoot, Zhou Jinyi deliberately messed up multiple takes just so he could hold her hand.

Hearing his quiet laughter beside her, Pei Xinye couldn’t keep her emotions in check. She struggled to break free, but ended up pushing him to the ground and sending him to the hospital.

The truth was, Zhou Jinyi had come up with the plan on the spot. He deliberately fell when she pushed him, then pretended a minor sprain was a fracture, enjoying three days of her tender care.

He never expected that the fall would land him not only in the hospital, but also in her heart.

Pei Xinye has plenty of good points. She’s beautiful, has a great figure, and is widely regarded as the best dancer in her girl group. Her only flaw is that she’s so even-tempered she can seem a little dull.

Zhou Jinyi loves how cold she is toward other men, but it also makes him angry when she treats him with the same indifference.

Zhou Jinyi: “I like you.”

Pei Xinye glanced at him coolly.

Zhou Jinyi: “After all those botched takes, you didn’t feel a thing?”

Pei Xinye: “...”

Later, Zhou Jinyi’s advances shifted from words to actions. Pei Xinye was thrown into turmoil by the change, and repeatedly found herself acting even more strangely than he did.

Blurb for Catch That Fish:

1.

Yu Xi, a popular game streamer, refuses to collaborate with a major gaming company and offends them. They go to great lengths and pay online trolls to fabricate a melodramatic story about her being kept by the wealthy top gifter in her livestream.

After the story breaks, Yu Xi faces the threat of being suspended from streaming, while her haters eagerly predict her fall from grace.

Yu Xi fights hard for a chance to explain herself in a livestream.

She has just prepared her statement when the mysterious top gifter floods the screen with gifts and adds a particularly eye-catching comment: [The affair is fake. The relationship is real.]

Onlookers are stunned, and the CP fans come back to life, welcoming a new spring. But Yu Xi, the person at the center of it all, is left completely confused: Could this person be a plant sent by the company?

The next day, the head of a well-known game studio posts a public clarification and announces the studio's first-ever collaboration since its founding.

Yu Xi's name is tied to his on the trending list.

Yu Xi suddenly understands and makes a phone call. “So, you're my fan?”

Xu Zhi laughs in exasperation. “Is that the point?”

2.

Question on a popular Q&A site: What’s it like when your girlfriend loves gaming more than you do?

The head of a well-known game studio replies: Love me, love my hobbies. I love her, so naturally I love watching her play games.

The comments erupt.

Yu Xi reads this exchange, which is wildly at odds with the truth, then turns to the person leaning against the sofa and asks in disbelief, “Who was it that threatened me yesterday, telling me to quit gaming and spend time with him?”

Xu Zhi calmly raises his eyes and smiles. “The person answering that question is your client. I’m your boyfriend. It’s different.”

Yu Xi: “?”

Why had she ever thought this man was gentle?

Premise: Reach the peak of life together with the person you love.
