The Crown Princess Doesn't Love Him Anymore

[The Heroine's Relentless Pursuit]

Qin Wangshu had known for a long time that her feelings were hopeless. Even after marrying him and becoming his only wife, even after forcibly keeping everyone else from coming between them, they would never find their happily-ever-after.

After three years, she finally accepted this truth.

You can't warm a stone cold as ice. She and the crown prince were never meant to be.

Just as she was preparing to let go of her feelings, the crown prince fell gravely ill.

She forgot everything else and devoted herself to caring for him, but his condition showed no improvement. His health kept deteriorating.

Then one day, she had a dream.

A deity stood atop the clouds and told her that the crown prince's illness could be cured, but in exchange, her love for him would be erased completely.

She agreed.

Those feelings had been useless all along. This would be good for both her and the crown prince.

The next day, she saw the crown prince sitting by the bed, smiling at her, and felt none of the flutter she once had.

His smiling face looked no different from anyone else's. Had she really loved him once?

The crown princess, Qin Wangshu, was famous in the capital for her jealousy. Using her family's power and status, she forced the crown prince to keep himself for her alone. Three years after she entered the Eastern Palace, it still had no secondary consorts or bedchamber attendants.

Some speculated that the Eastern Palace would remain empty until the crown prince ascended the throne.

But that wasn't what happened. Just a few days after that prediction was made, word spread that Qin Wangshu had volunteered to find concubines for the crown prince.

Instead, it was the usually distant crown prince who made a shocking declaration in court.

"I need no one but Wangshu for my entire life."

When Crown Prince Fu Cang saw that his once adoring wife no longer looked at him with love, a dull, relentless pain gnawed at him, tearing him apart.

All the love he had once taken for granted had turned into sharp blades, coated in the deadly poison of regret, and plunged into his own heart.

Theme: Regret can still be remedied if you realize your mistake early enough.
