Pout? Then I'll Break Off the Engagement!

[Icy, Brooding CEO X Fake Sweetheart, Actually Spunky Lady]

1.

As soon as Gu Jingqiu returned home, her family informed her that she was engaged to Xie Jinglin.

In their social circle, Xie Jinglin had a nickname that was widely used in private but never dared to be said out loud: "Polar Air Conditioner." The polar regions were already cold, so anyone who could make them colder had to be even icier.

It was said he hated women acting coy the most. The daughter of the Qin family, his former fiancee before his last one, had been dumped because she was always acting coy.

Woman + acting coy = broken engagement.

Got it.

2.

On the day they met, Gu Jingqiu wore the popular internet-celebrity green-tea makeup. Lowering her eyes, she pinched the hem of her plain white dress and sat across from Xie Jinglin, looking every bit like a delicate little white flower.

The little white flower, Gu Jingqiu, opened with the standard twelve-character line of affected sweetness: "This is so sweet. I'm going to get so fat!"

She even dragged out the final word.

The man looked at her, his long, narrow eyes curving with a smile that was impossible to read.

His gaze made Gu Jingqiu feel scorched. She reflexively lowered her head, only to see the chocolate mousse that had been in front of him pushed over to her by a hand with clearly defined knuckles.

"This one's not as sweet. Have this instead."

Gu Jingqiu: ...Is this air conditioner broken?

Gu Jingqiu: Is he pretending?

Gu Jingqiu: Let's see how long you can keep this up!

3.

Everyone said that Xie Jinglin, CEO of the Xie family, was cold and unfeeling, and that the company he ran was the perfect lifelong companion. Xie Jinglin thought so too. A company didn't act coy or cause trouble, and it didn't cry prettily. It was convenient and straightforward. He just never imagined that one day he would be haunted by thoughts of someone because of every little expression and smile of hers.

Still, it wasn't so bad. Smiling, he looked at the sleeping girl beside him, leaned down, and kissed her.
