After Being Assigned a Mermaid, the General Fell for Him

[Protective romance with a powerful lead and a weaker one]

Gu Chen is the youngest admiral in the Imperial Federation, known as an SSS-class ferocious type among "humanoid biological weapons." His mental power is incredibly strong, but like a hurricane about to strike, he urgently needs a mate to soothe him. The matchmaking System has refreshed hundreds of times without finding a suitable fish for him, and he himself looks down on weak little creatures like "mates."

Then, during a mission, the military forces Gu Chen, as the "primary mission operative," to temporarily adopt a little mermaid rescued from the black market. Realizing he's been played, Gu Chen turns around with a dark expression as the minister smiles ingratiatingly at him. There he sees the newly hatched little one, slender, pale fingers resting cautiously on the edge of the fish tank. Curly black hair falls over clear, bright eyes, leaving only half of the little one's face visible as they watch them nervously.

Gu Chen: ...

Damn.

He's done for.

Lately, the First Division of the Federation Army has felt that their admiral is acting strangely. His temper has mellowed, and he keeps smiling for no apparent reason. The most likely explanation would be... that he's found a mate. But could Gu Chen find a mate? Him?

The First Division scoffs at the idea, until one rainy day the chief secretary accidentally sees their admiral "restraining" a creature wrapped from head to toe in black cloth in his arms, interrogating it with a menacing face: "Getting bolder, huh?"

Chief Secretary (coldly): Let's see which poor soul is about to meet an untimely end this time.

Then he watches as two slender, pale hands emerge from the black cloth and reach straight for the big demon's ears, tugging them. The big demon, looking murderous (crossed out), nuzzles and nibbles at the black cloth, then contentedly gathers the little fish into his arms.

Chief Secretary: Oh ho!
