[New Novel Next Door: Reborn, the Lady Has Changed is now available. Come check it out!]
Rong Hua of the Marquis of Zhenbian's household is the richest young lady in the capital, and in her eyes, there is no problem money can't solve.
That is, until she takes a fancy to Jiang Huai, the newly crowned top scholar. When the Marquis of Zhenbian's household makes an imposing marriage proposal, Jiang Huai replies, "A man of pure principles and a man of money have nothing in common."
Rong Hua laughs in disbelief. "You don't even know how to appreciate it when someone likes you? Go on, beat him into submission with money."
But she never expected Jiang Huai to show her that there really are things in this world that money can't solve.
Seeing that he remains unmoved, Rong Hua decides not to make things difficult for herself. She is ready to find someone else to shower with money.
Before she can act, however, war breaks out at the border. Her father, full of patriotic fervor, donates every last bit of their money to the imperial treasury.
Accustomed to spending lavishly, Rong Hua suddenly has no idea how to get by. She can only knock on Jiang Huai's door.
Seeing Rong Hua come looking for him, Jiang Huai thinks she has finally learned how to love someone. He struggles to contain his excitement, opens the door, and asks, "What is it?"
"Um..." Rong Hua twiddles her fingers, looking a little sheepish. "I was thinking, since things between us didn't work out, maybe... you could return all the money I spent on you and all the things I gave you?"
Jiang Huai nearly chokes. Suppressing his overwhelming fury, he forces a smile and says, "Come in first. We can talk about it inside."
Rong Hua nods and steps inside, lifting her skirt. What she doesn't see is the famously courteous top scholar smirking as he shuts the door, locks it, and tosses the key into the pond.
[The young lady who seems loaded but is actually pinching pennies vs. the top scholar who seems pure and incorruptible but is actually the heir to Jiangnan's richest family]

Yan Junfu and Lin Qingjian have been married for eight years and have two children, but she remains quiet, virtuous, gentle, and proper. He treats her with courtesy, but nothing more. So when she asks for a divorce, he calmly agrees.
After being reborn, Yan Junfu wants to live differently. Meanwhile, Lin Qingjian has yet to be found and brought back by the marquis's household, and is still struggling to survive in a bandit den. Those days have always been the shadow of her life.
Since they were husband and wife once, Yan Junfu figures he might as well rescue her and return her to the marquis's household. Then they can each go their separate ways, giving their past relationship a proper conclusion.
So he leads a squad of personal guards to suppress the bandits. But when the bandit stronghold's gates open, he sees Lin Qingjian atop a tall horse, holding a spear and shouting, "Who the hell are you? Think you can suppress the bandits without asking the gun in my hand?"
Yan Junfu's eyes nearly pop out of his head. Recalling the years of their previous life, he finally understands how much effort she went to for his sake, effort he never noticed.
Deeply shaken, Yan Junfu immediately orders his guards to turn back, then dismounts and walks toward her, visibly moved.
Before he can even call her name, though, someone clubs him over the back of the head. As he loses consciousness, he sees her throw up an arm and shout, "Take him back! Give him to my godmother as her seventh bandit husband."
Yan Junfu: ??? Give me to who? What the hell, Lin Qingjian! We're not done with each other this time around!

Before being reborn, Song Yuexun was married off to a poor scholar at her stepmother's arrangement. She had hoped for a quiet life, but before long, the poor scholar rose to prominence, eventually becoming a powerful minister while still young and wielding great influence at court.
Only Song Yuexun knew how cruel and violent he was behind closed doors, and how she spent every day living in fear.
After being reborn, she returns to the eve of her wedding. Just as Song Yuexun is racking her brains to break off the engagement, her stepsister, who has also been reborn, insists on marrying the man who had been Song Yuexun's husband in her previous life.
To make it happen, her stepsister even pushes Song Yuexun toward the young prince, who had grown up surrounded by luxury in her own previous life but had never amounted to anything.
Watching her stepsister happily don her wedding dress, Song Yuexun presses her lips together to hide her smile.
Song Yuexun is once again married off at her stepmother's arrangement, this time to Prince Yan, Xie Yaochen. His mother is out of favor, and he has no ambition. He is good for nothing but his wealth.
On their wedding day, Xie Yaochen tells her expressionlessly, "Behave yourself in this life. If you dream of the palace's riches and status, today will be the last time I ever set foot in your room."
Song Yuexun has long heard that Xie Yaochen is a master at spending money, and that in the future he will even travel the realm under imperial orders. After all the hardships she endured in her previous life, she wants to enjoy some of the good fortune she never had.
So she tells Xie Yaochen, "What are you saying, husband? We are one as husband and wife. If you don't mind, I would gladly share your wealth with you. I have no desire for power."
A flicker of delight passes through Xie Yaochen's eyes. "If you truly mean that, then whatever I have is yours too. From now on, you can choose anywhere within our realm to visit."

Theme: Money and power are no match for a sincere heart. Love is nothing but honest devotion.
I've finished watching it, it's good to watch, but it's a pity that it's Xiaolujiang
I stayed up all night to finish reading it. While watching it, I found countless bright spots that I wanted to comment on at the end, but I am too sleepy to write it now hahh. Then I highly recommend it to the sisters who clicked in!! The novel is beautiful! Very worth buying!
It's so funny that Brother Jiang is okay
I call you brother, you call me son, we both have our own things to do.
... The male protagonist is sometimes too feminine. I can't say what's weird about it (personal opinion). You argue with me.
The male protagonist of Goodfellas does a really good job of self-discovery~
It's so beautiful~Spread flowers~
Hahahahahaha you call me uncle, I call you big brother
Alas, we don't know each other. I can make a blind guess and identify him. It must be Rong's father who recognized Xiao Jiang's Lu family's marksmanship.
"Don't they teach you well?" "Catch a big bug for the author~ No better than what they taught
