Peng Yi vs. Chu Dong
Cold-faced, adorable, prickly shou vs. charming, scheming tea-boy gong
Group: [My Rival and I Are Mortal Enemies]
[New post]: What's a good excuse to beat someone up?
I'll call this guy D below.
My mom remarried D's dad. I live with my dad, so D and I aren't a blended family. That's the background.
D and I didn't have anything to do with each other at first, but then my mom had an adorable little girl, and things got complicated.
My mom and my sister became D's family too. He got to have all the good things, and I really can't stand him.
Then they moved to the neighboring city. For six or seven years, I hardly saw my mom and sister except during holidays.
I'm pretty sure this D stirs up trouble between us when he's with them.
Now they've moved back. Should I give D a proper lesson and make sure he knows my mom and sister are mine?
[Reply 1]: How do you and D compare in a fight?
[Original poster]: He's taller, but I could take him in a fight. The important thing is having a valid reason, or I'd look unreasonable.
[Reply 2]: If he picks a fight with you, wouldn't that give you a reason?
[Original poster]: He's a total scheming tea-boy. The second we met, he sweetly called me big brother. He's a full-on award-winning actor! Worst of all, he knows embarrassing stuff about me, so I'm at a disadvantage!
[Reply 3]: How's it going lately? Has D been beaten up yet?
[Original poster]: Don't ask. I still haven't found an opportunity! This guy is so weird! Really weird!! He's always saying weird stuff like, "At either end of fate, the pain is the same." He nags me to drink more water, makes me pour-over coffee, and insists on tutoring me just because he's top of the class. There's something wrong with him! But I can't beat him up over that. When I go to my mom's for dinner, I have to act like we're brothers. It's so frustrating!
[Reply 4]: Hahaha, just passing through. The original poster sounds like one of those people online asking, "Why does my cat keep making noise?"
[Reply 5]: Hey, that's a great way to put it!
[Reply 6]: I'm shipping them.
[Reply 7]: Same.
[Original poster]: Are you people crazy?! He's my rival!
[Reply 8]: But your rival is your wife!
[Reply 9]: I'm late. Is this thread still getting updates?
[Original poster]: Look at the light-painting graffiti we made with long-exposure photography over New Year's! The tree we planted together on Arbor Day! Our lucky ranking numbers! We rode the pirate ship together on my birthday! I even got my favorite gift! We helped my sister prepare a performance for Children's Day and practiced dancing together! [Photos*N]
[Reply 9]: Weren't you with your sister? Where is she? [doge]
[Reply 10]: I dug this thread up after it's been buried for ages. Please give us an update.
[Original poster]: Hehe.
Reader's Guide:
1. The gong and shou are not related by blood, are not part of a blended family, are not registered in the same household, and have no parent-child relationship. They are not considered kin by adoption, but legally speaking, they're still stepbrothers. Decide for yourselves whether that counts as a pseudo-incest setup.
2. Lots of interaction, with a long period of flirting and push-and-pull. They get together as adults. No breaking up and getting back together later, just sweetness, no angst.
3. Only the blurb is written as a forum thread. I'm hopeless at writing blurbs, and I couldn't get the usual style to work, so I'm trying this. The actual story is in standard prose.
