The Long Star Falls

After three hundred years of resurgence, the world's spiritual energy seems to be running out, beginning to decline after its peak.

Just then, Western mechanical technology arrives. Combining it with mysticism becomes a way for the art to barely survive.

In the blink of an eye, the streets are full of mystics and mechanics. In the small coastal city of Wanghaicheng on the peninsula, magic, monsters, and steampunk coexist.

It looks prosperous, but also like the fading embers of a glorious age.

For Cen Yuan, the good news is that he has extraordinary talent and is a rare mystic mechanic. The bad news is that his bloodline has cursed him with a short life.

Orphaned and with his master missing, he became a little beggar on the street. He had no attachments to the world until he happened to save a child named You Ziyi.

As it happens, the boy's father knew his late father. He is the "son of an old friend."

Not only does Cen Yuan gain a home, he also gets a younger sworn brother who suits him perfectly.

Now he just hopes he can live to a hundred.

You Ziyi was born into privilege and had an easy life, until he met Cen Yuan and learned what it meant to be afraid.

He fears Cen Yuan might sneak away, and fears even more that he'll sneak off and die.

So he studies mysticism, machinery, and emerging medicine, until his knowledge becomes a jumble, all so he can save Cen Yuan's life.

He never expected to need those skills for himself first.

The grudges of the previous generation are passed down, and the two boys are dragged into the depths of fate by demons lurking in the shadows.

The boys refuse to give up and choose to face the darkness head-on.

A pawn of destiny might also be heaven's chosen one.

Especially when there are two of them.

Even with thorns in their path, they will pierce the darkness, defeat the demon king hiding behind the scenes, and dispel the gloom that shrouds the sky.

Perhaps there is still time to honor the promise they once made to stay together for a long, long time.
