My Partner Doesn't Seem to Be Human

The blurb needs refining, there can be no ghosts, and the title needs changing.

My boyfriend said he wanted to break up with me. He had someone else. It made sense. Apart from my looks, I had no real strengths. I took medication all year round and couldn't do strenuous exercise. Now that the initial passion had faded, it was time to break up. Still, I was a little sad.

Then the man who had broken up with me came back the day after leaving home. I thought he couldn't bear to be apart from me.

Until I saw the ravenous way he looked at me. It was the kind of longing a person feels for food, for tender, juicy meat. His pupils were slit like a beast's...

When he slept beside me, I could always hear a strange chirring of cicadas that made me want to vomit and filled me with dread...

Just as I couldn't take it anymore and was about to break up with my boyfriend, he returned to normal. He loved me even more than before...

So, should I still break up with him?
