My Husband, Missing for Twenty-Three Years, Has Returned

A 100,000-character novella, also known as "Love at Dusk"

[Free to read in full while serialized. Updates are irregular, but the story will be completed.]

On the day Wen Lanlan turned twenty-seven, her husband promised to get off work early to celebrate her birthday with her, but then he suddenly vanished...

The husband who had been gone for twenty-three years walked back into their home on Wen Lanlan's fiftieth birthday.

He wore the black leather jacket she had bought him, had a neat crew cut, and was tall and handsome, just as she remembered him from all those years ago.

Fifty-year-old Wen Lanlan thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She put on her reading glasses and squinted at him for a long while before daring to recognize her husband.

Then she smiled at the husband who had been gone for twenty-three years and said, "You're late coming home. I've gotten old."

Note:

This is only a blurb for a planned story. The trope of one person growing old while the other remains young has appeared in films such as The Age of Adaline, The Time Traveler's Wife, and 20 Once Again.

So this is neither an original trope nor a uniquely special one.

Readers who think I may have borrowed too heavily from these works, please take a reasonable view.

Theme: Love is unforgettable
