The Boss Is Out of the Service Area [Infinite]

[Synopsis first drafted on 2020.10.11, revised on 2024.1.3. Everything is tentative.]

Part 1

Every player in the infinite escape world knows this:

At the end of each dungeon, the twenty-two top-tier bosses known as the "Sages," each named after a tarot card, hold a key. Defeat them, and you can get a key that will take you straight back to reality.

They also know this:

The newly arrived seventeenth-ranked Sage, [The Star], is clearly the easiest one to deal with.

And yet no one has ever managed to get that key.

Because...

The boss is never available. :)

-

Hua Ye was set up by someone and accidentally entered the escape world. After clearing a dungeon, she obtained an item.

[Congratulations, Player! You have obtained the item "The Star's Aura." If your appearance is at least 60% similar, you can successfully disguise yourself as the seventeenth-ranked top-tier boss, Sage [The Star], and earn the affection of the dungeon NPCs. Unlimited uses.]

Hua Ye: ...

Hua Ye: ?!??!

Part 2

While carefully keeping her secret identity under wraps, Hua Ye, who had wandered into the dungeon world, cleared countless dungeons alongside her reliable teammate, Ying Xingchen.

As they were about to reach the final world, where Hua Ye would return to her true place, she decided to come clean to her teammate.

-

Hua Ye: "Xingchen, I need to tell you something. Don't freak out."

Ying Xingchen: "Mm." (Nods with a smile.)

Hua Ye: "My real identity is the seventeenth-ranked top-tier boss, Sage [The Star]. I'll be able to protect you in the final world."

Ying Xingchen: "..."

Hua Ye: "Oh, right. Just remember not to mess with that psycho ranked thirteenth, Sage [Bleach]. I think his name is Xing something, too..."

Ying Xingchen: "...Xing Jiang."

Hua Ye: "Oh, yeah, Xing Jiang. Wait, I thought the bosses' names were confidential. How do you know, Xingchen?"

Ying Xingchen: "Because that's my other name."

-

Hua Ye (ye, second tone) x Ying Xingchen/Xing Jiang

Seventeenth Sage [The Star] x Thirteenth Sage [Bleach]

◆◆Reader Guide and Advisory◆◆

1. One-on-one romance, happy ending.

2. Part of the series where secret identities never stop being exposed. Both the male and female leads are full of layers, and that's not limited to what's mentioned in the synopsis.

3. This should be a quirky, silly story full of mischief.

4. They're both bosses, but neither lead is the invincible, domineering type in the dungeons.
