How Humans Should Raise an Extra-Well-Behaved Species

Bai Cai is beautiful and delicate, with a soft body and a gentle disposition.

But everyone avoids him because of his species, even the cruelest monsters.

Bai Cai gazed innocently at the little white flower sprouting from him,

never understanding why nobody liked him.

But when he crouched in front of a human's villa and saw that tall, lean figure emerge, radiating menace, he still hid his little white flower and threw himself into the other's arms, eyes shining.

"Xie Zhuiling! Will you take me in?"

Bai Cai mustered all the courage he had. His voice was timid, but so soft it made the heart tremble. "I-I'll be good."

Xie Zhuiling froze.

Without thinking, he hid his bloodstained hand behind his back.

Bai Cai had come to repay a kindness, and he was incredibly earnest and obedient.

After moving into the villa, he bustled around like a little house spirit, regularly driving away monsters drawn by the scent, then waiting for Xie Zhuiling to come home and pat his head.

Whenever he got a pat, he'd look up, his beautiful eyes dewy and bright with joy.

He really did like Xie Zhuiling so much!

Xie Zhuiling was humanity's strongest ability user, an officer at the Special Management Bureau, and a cold-hearted demon who had hunted countless monsters.

He was like snow atop a mountain, destined to die alone.

Everyone feared and hated him.

This adorable little monster would leave him eventually, too, wouldn't he?

Until one day, during an SSS-rank monster horde.

Xie Zhuiling unleashed his full power, and Bai Cai happened to witness his brutal, blood-soaked side.

In the chaos, Bai Cai suddenly lunged forward and hugged him.

Dense branches unfurled wildly, twisting into a terrifying shape as they wrapped around him protectively.

Then Bai Cai trembled and gently, carefully, obediently touched Xie Zhuiling's cheek. "Don't be afraid. I'll protect you."

The sealed files record Bai Cai's species as the Vine Orchid.

A highest-level, vicious monster, skilled at strangling its prey and without natural enemies.

Its recorded preferences were originally listed as none.

After this incident, a new line suddenly appeared:

Likes being patted and comforted by humanity's strongest ability user.

Theme: Repay even the smallest kindness a hundredfold.
