Can an Alpha Raise Another Alpha?

Short story under 20,000 words

A goofy, honest S-rank Alpha top who talks like he has no filter x a gentle but insecure D-rank Alpha bottom

-

(An alternate wasteland setting. Everyone is raised in a safe zone until they present at eighteen. After presenting, Alphas go out to fight monsters, Betas gather resources and build homes, and Omegas are locked away as tools for reproduction.)

Jing Sheng thought he would present as an Omega, so he carefully ingratiated himself with his classmate Fu Luocheng, who was destined to present as an S-rank Alpha.

He humbly hoped Fu Luocheng might develop some feelings for him, and, best of all, adopt him after he presented.

But Fu Luocheng seemed to treat him as nothing more than a backup. When he was in a bad mood, he wouldn't even give Jing Sheng the time of day.

Jing Sheng was utterly despairing.

Without an Alpha to protect them, Omegas who had presented could only become tools for reproduction, at everyone's mercy.

But then he turned eighteen and presented as an Alpha.

Before presenting:

Fu Luocheng: Why does this guy keep flirting with me? I only want to be his friend!

After presenting:

Fu Luocheng: Why won't he team up with me? And why is he adopting that little green-tea as his personal Omega? I'm so pissed! You're supposed to be my best friend!
