I don't know if you've read this story. When I started reading, I was drawn in by the forced-love story between Duan Yelin and Xu Hang, the warlord couple. But this side couple left me with a heartache so bad I thought I was having a heart attack.
In the original, Duan Zhanzhou and Cong Lin have a tragic ending, separated by life and death.
Cong Lin dies with regrets, and the scene where Duan Zhanzhou digs up his grave in the mass burial ground is absolutely heartbreaking.
They don't appear much, and the tragic moments are told in just a few strokes, but every one of them hit me right where it hurt.
Late one night, I was so upset that I decided to defy fate.
This is a classic reborn story about making things right. I originally meant to write it just for myself, adding to it on and off whenever I thought of it. Later, I happened to see readers online asking for a reborn continuation for the side couple.
So I decided to post it after all.
