Jiang Chaoyun was born into the richest family in Jiangnan and grew up cherished by his family. Sadly, he was frail from childhood and died before reaching adulthood.

But he was reborn, and only then did he learn that he had been the beloved of a tyrannical emperor back when the boy was young and down on his luck in a storybook.

After Jiang Chaoyun died young, the boy ascended the throne and found countless substitutes who resembled him. But because they weren’t Jiang Chaoyun, he had those innocent young men killed. His endless tyranny also left the country’s people destitute, and in the end, rebel forces overthrew his rule.

He was reborn just as the young tyrant, driven into hiding by rebels, assumed a false identity and entered his household as a guard.

To stop the future tyrant from slaughtering innocent people, Jiang Chaoyun decided to be a bad boy

The young man came to return the handkerchief Jiang Chaoyun had lent him. Jiang Chaoyun raised his chin and said haughtily, “You used it. It’s dirty!”

This was a scheme to humiliate his dignity.

A sudden storm hit while they were out enjoying the spring scenery. The young man sheltered Jiang Chaoyun from the wind and rain with his broad chest. Jiang Chaoyun said, “You’re being so nice to me. Is it because you want my money?”

This was a scheme to trample on his sincerity.

Jiang Chaoyun discovered the young man had hidden his handkerchief in his underclothes. Overjoyed, he poured all his venom into his words: “You’re disgusting. I hate you!”

This was a scheme to sever his budding affection.

With all three schemes in play, there was no way the young man wouldn’t fall out of love with him.

But in the end, the young tyrant still loved and doted on him, and even wanted to make him empress!

“No Choice, I’ll Just Have to Be the Villain’s Wife”

Blurb: On the first day of his summer vacation after his senior year of high school, Chi Mian is dropped by the System into a cultivation novel about an invincible hero. His mission is to eliminate the great villain, Xie Xiyi.

After reading the original, Chi Mian realizes the plot has gone completely off the rails.

In the original story, the hero is spirited and unstoppable, and ultimately sacrifices the villain to a divine artifact before ascending to the divine realm with his friends and family, living a carefree life.

In reality, the hero is beaten from the start. Villain Xie Xiyi tears out his tendons and strips his bones, leaving him half-dead. Now he’s fleeing like a stray dog, hiding wherever he can, and no one knows where he is.

According to the System’s walkthrough, Chi Mian must become the person Xie Xiyi trusts most in order to steal his fortune. Then, as the villain’s most trusted person, Chi Mian can deliver a fatal blow, eliminate him, and set the world back on the right track.

There are three routes in the walkthrough with a high chance of success: become Xie Xiyi’s godfather, his underling, or his beloved.

On his first attempt, Chi Mian chooses the godfather route. Before he can even deliver a heartfelt pep talk, Xie Xiyi runs him through with a sword. Game over.

On his second attempt, Chi Mian chooses the underling route. He loudly proclaims his loyalty to Xie Xiyi and vows to follow him to the death. Xie Xiyi runs him through the heart with a sword. Game over.

On his third attempt, Chi Mian, a straight guy who can’t take the beloved route, sees Xie Xiyi again and immediately switches sides, crying as he clings to his leg. “Boss, I was forced into this! It was all the System’s doing! The System told me to win your trust, steal your fortune, and then stab you in the back, aaaaaah!”

Chi Mian, once again run through the heart with a sword: “…”

Damn it!

Later, Chi Mian finally gets his wish and becomes Xie Xiyi’s leg-hugging ornament. Even though he’s been covered in restrictive spells, he’s still alive, and that’s enough to make him happy.

Later still, Xie Xiyi drags Chi Mian onto the bed and melts the iron underwear protecting his butt with a single palm strike. His voice is alluring as he asks, “Afraid of me?”

Chi Mian: “…”

Daaaaamn it!

Mini-scene 1:

Xie Xiyi asks Chi Mian, “Is there anything else you’re hiding from me? Confess everything.”

Chi Mian scratches his head. “Does it count if I got the System’s bonus package, which makes me immune to the poison in your body?”

Xie Xiyi’s pale lips curl into the brightest smile he’s ever shown. “Excellent. Now I can touch you.”

At the time, Chi Mian still didn’t know what Xie Xiyi meant by “touch.”

Once he found out, Chi Mian regretted it bitterly.

Chi Mian: “Your dick is so poisonous it gives me a stomachache. I really can’t take it. Can we break up?”

The fake eunuch is a minor cannon fodder character who will soon be beaten to death after his identity is exposed.

To stay alive under the feudal system, Gao Ning does his best to steer clear of the plot and uses his connections to get a job at the Eastern Depot, hoping to reach the people through his new workplace.

One day, while on a poverty-alleviation trip, he finds a badly injured man and takes care of him until he recovers. Then Gao Ning quietly takes his leave.

Only when summoned by the tyrant does he learn that the man he saved was the tyrant himself.

Perhaps out of gratitude for saving his life, the tyrant repays him by abducting him and forcing him into marriage.

Unlike the protagonist shou, who is left devastated and helpless by being forced into a relationship, Gao Ning is struck by a sense of purpose: Woohoo, get the top leader on my side and I can make it to shore without a struggle!

Gao Ning: “Your Majesty, please listen to my poverty-alleviation plan (x).”

The tyrant: “?”

After that

“Your Majesty, if you increase the disaster-relief funds, I’ll give you a kiss.”

“Grand Tutor is loyal through and through, as clear as the sun and moon. Let him out of prison, Your Majesty, and I’ll take my clothes off for you right away.”

“If Your Majesty can fix the flooding in Yuzhou within three months, I’ll have your bed ready and welcome you tonight!”

…

In the end, the tyrant is coaxed into becoming a wise ruler. “…”

Something feels off.

Gao Ning, keeping his poverty-alleviation mission in mind: “Sure, I lose my freedom, but the people gain peaceful lives and a prosperous, stable age!”
