After Making Headlines

[Complete! A deep bow!] The day after Wen Nian unexpectedly went viral because of an "airport photo," a director picked him up and cast him as a minor extra in a talent show called "Second Summer." As soon as the official promotional photos were released, the hashtag #WhoIsWenNian# shot to the top of the trending list. There was a reason. "Second Summer" had won the title of "Most Anticipated Variety Show of the Year" based solely on its preliminary contestant list. It also had a well-known nickname: Summer of the Second-Generation Kids. They were either celebrity offspring or rich kids, making it a veritable second-generation makeover show. Everyone: "Wen Nian? Who? This is ridiculous!" Then the show aired. #WenNianDrums#, #WenNianAllStarSportsMeet# and #WenNianHitsTenWithThreeConsecutiveShots# shot to the top of the trending list once again. Even the production team hadn't expected that the minor extra they'd added at the last minute just to fulfill the requirement to "include footage of an ordinary person" would become the show's biggest talking point. The audience fell in love with him, ratings broke records, and fans shipped everyone with everyone. But the most popular ship was the minor extra Wen Nian and Shen Huaijing, the producer-mentor specially invited to anchor the show: "A Year of Good Scenery." Later, one day on the eve of a red-carpet event, a sudden downpour threw the hotel entrance into chaos. Wen Nian's and Shen Huaijing's cars arrived one after the other. As soon as Shen Huaijing's car stopped, his team rushed over with umbrellas to get him. Onlookers: Look at that, the responsiveness and speed of a top-tier team. Look... huh? Wasn't Teacher Shen's agent the first to rush toward Wen Nian? Later, more photos came to light... The fans: We've shipped them for years, but we've never seen anything so discreet yet so obvious. The people around him protect the one he loves first. Who can say "A Year of Good Scenery" isn't real?! The second-generation kids: I'm tired of this love stuff. -------★---★------- * The talent show is only the format of the program. Thank you, a deep bow! -------★---★------- The next story, "So You're Still Not Going to Make It Up to Me?", is quietly open for preorder. Ji Tong never imagined he'd see Gu Lin again at Anjing University... that jerk. - Half a year earlier, during the winter break of his senior year of high school, after an utterly ordinary conversation, Gu Lin suddenly sent him a voice message on WeChat: "Ji Tong, what am I to you?" The voice through the phone was low and soft. Ji Tong didn't understand what he meant, but answered without a second thought: "My best deskmate, my best friend, my best bro!" There was no reply for a long time. Maybe that wasn't heartfelt enough, or moving enough. Ji Tong thought for a moment. "Remember that essay the teacher analyzed in Chinese class a few days ago, 'Letter to Ziqian'?" "It's like, we're the kind of brothers who'd entrust our wives and children to each other on our deathbeds!" Gu Lin: "..." A few seconds later, another voice message came through. Ji Tong tapped it, and Gu Lin's icy voice came through the speaker: "Ji Tong, where's your brain?" Ji Tong: "???" It was the first time Gu Lin had ever spoken harshly to Ji Tong. So furious that he nearly set his phone keyboard on fire, Ji Tong typed: "Gu Lin, you're done for. After school starts, whoever speaks to the other first loses!" A week later, school started. Ji Tong learned from a teacher that Gu Lin had gone abroad. - The person Ji Tong thought he'd never see again in this lifetime showed up at An University. Not long after classes began, Ji Tong came down with a sudden high fever. Clutching his friend's hand, he ranted furiously. "Where's that jerk Gu Lin?" "How dare he say I have no brain?! Call him! I want to yell at him back!" His helpless friend had no choice but to support the sick boy while making the call. Just as Ji Tong was about to lose consciousness, he finally heard the voice from his memories. "Where does it hurt?" the other person asked. Ji Tong lifted his head, his face and eyes flushed red with fever. After a long pause, he said: "Didn't you decide you weren't going to talk to me?" "Gu Lin, you spoke to me first." "I win." The one saying "I win" was clutching the hem of his shirt tightly. Gu Lin lowered his eyes, his expression dark, and carefully gathered him into his arms. "Yes." "You win." - The two made up and went back to how they'd been before. Their mutual friends thanked the heavens, thanked Guangkun, and teased them: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Ji Tong immediately corrected them: "This is a friendship founded on honor, brotherly love!" Then one day, a friend accidentally walked in on the two of them... kissing. Very much... "brotherly love"???!!! [Flirty but unaware of it, gay but unaware of it, clingy sunshine shou x cool gong who schemes at every step] Theme: Sweetness is justice.
