Posted to Meteor City After Passing the Civil Service Exam

After five years of studying for the civil service exam, Mingli finally passed.

On her first day reporting for duty, before she had even seen her desk, her superior sent her off with a single sentence to some unknown remote region called Meteor Street.

There was no trace of the place online, only rumors and gossip.

She asked an online friend she had met while studying, who had experience living on Meteor Street.

The friend replied: The people are simple and kind, and life is prosperous. You're welcome to come.

Mingli relaxed, picked up her bag, and set off with her head full of civil-service exam knowledge.

But on her very first day on the job, a shady driver swindled her out of half her savings. When she arrived in Meteor Street, before she could even recover from the sight of garbage as far as the eye could see, all her luggage was stolen.

The man who was supposed to be her superior had long since died beneath some garbage mountain, and the office building had been seized by a particularly vicious gang.

Only then did Mingli learn that this place was an illegal zone beyond the control of any government.

And so... she was forced to become Meteor Street's first Party secretary.

Her superior, far across the ocean, left her with one instruction: Turn Meteor Street into a model community within two years. This is the organization's test for you. After two years, you can return...

Someone sliced her phone in half with a knife.

Mingli: ...Putting aside whether I can transform Meteor Street in two years, will I even survive the next two days?

The female lead has no romantic pairing.

Contains lots of headcanons that distort the original work (?) and out-of-character characterizations.

Everything in this story is fictional and has no connection to reality.
