This Spirit Exorcist's Style Is All Wrong (Original Version)

[Not abandoned! I'll rewrite it when I have time!]

Since this story is already a year-old embarrassment, the author has decided to mark it as complete for now. Later, I'll start a new book with the same title in my profile's upcoming section. The general direction of the plot won't change; I'll mainly revise the details and pacing.

I will definitely finish it! Trust me!

Blurb:

Netizen A: Hello, fellow spirit exorcists. There's a question that's been bothering me for a long time, and I hope someone can answer it.

With technology developing so rapidly, how has the way we exorcise evil spirits changed compared to the past? If it's changed, what exactly are the differences?

Jiang Wuyue: Thanks for the question. I'm at a cemetery, just got off the bus, and I'm currently cleaning up after an evil spirit. That's a good question, but let me ask you one more thing: have you ever heard of... exorcising ghosts with physical force?

With fluttering robes and a sword in hand, graceful and unmatched. Before Shen Ke joined the profession, he always thought all spirit exorcists should look like that.

But on his first day out on a mission, that belief he'd held for years was mercilessly shattered.

He watched in person as the senior he admired, Jiang Wuyue, an S-plus-ranked agent in the Spirit Exorcist Association, faced a terrifying evil spirit attacking him. Without hurry or fuss, Jiang Wuyue pulled a gun from his coat and calmly put a gaping hole in the spirit's head with one shot.

Shen Ke: ???

Jiang Wuyue didn't bat an eye. He simply took out a handkerchief and wiped down his beloved gun. Meeting Shen Ke's gaze, he said flatly: "Times have changed, Shen."

Shen Ke smiled and carefully put the talisman he'd been clutching back in his pocket.

"Is it too late for me to quit the association?"

A gloomy old house, heavy darkness.

Amid a pile of old junk, Jiang Wuyue picked up a notebook. The information inside led him step by step into the abyss.

An eerie mountain village, an empty sanatorium, a strange island, a massive ghost ship...

What is illusion, and what is reality?

Once you've parted the fog, is the truth you see really what you want?

Reader Notes:

1. One-on-one romance, happy ending.

2. Mainly told from the top's perspective. The top!

3. There may be a secondary couple with a relatively small role.

Theme: Piecing together the truth from fragmented information
