Blurb:

As the last cultivator in modern society, Sang Yuning was struck dead by lightning just as she was undergoing her heavenly tribulation.

When she woke up, she discovered she had been reborn in the future, in a world where technology and magic coexisted. People piloted mechs and battled magicians, and even the number of genders had increased to six.

Sang Yuning had been reborn into a family of magicians. Both her parents were top magical geniuses, but she herself had no talent whatsoever. She couldn't even master the most basic levitation spell.

But Sang Yuning wasn't discouraged by her inability to use magic, because she discovered that she could still cultivate in this world using the methods from her previous life!

She couldn't cast spells with a wand, but she could use her battered wooden sword. She couldn't use levitation, but she could fly by riding the qi. She could reproduce ordinary elemental magic by drawing talismans. And if she couldn't conjure a magical shield, she could set up a barrier formation!

By refusing to follow the beaten path, Sang Yuning became famous throughout the academy. She was so absorbed in cultivation that she forgot all about differentiation. So when the day finally came, she was completely unprepared and somehow became an alpha! That same day, an omega went through differentiation too. An alpha and an omega alone together in one room: the story soon spread across the whole school.

Later, Sang Yuning learned that the omega she'd cornered in the bathroom that day was Shixiao, the future star on whom the magical world had pinned all its hopes. She had no memory of giving Shixiao a temporary mark while neither of them was fully conscious.

Later still, when she saw Shixiao again, his eyes were red and full of hurt.

"You were the one who marked me that day, but you were also the one who ran away first."

Sang Yuning: "??!"

It seemed she'd somehow gotten involved with someone quite extraordinary.
