When I first read "The Wind and Snow Waiting for Return", I always thought that the end of the story would be that the wind and snow would clear away and all the old friends would return home. But after reading and closing the book twice and three times, I realized that the most precious thing in the story has never been the "happy reunion", but the persistence of those with regrets - just like Ling Qiu, like those who failed to make it to the end, their departure is not a tragedy, but another kind of heavy fulfillment in the end of the world. Ling Qiu is the name that impressed me the most after reading the entire article. This name has a sense of destiny from the beginning. He lives in An Yu's memories, like a beam of light shining into the slums, short but hot. He is a soldier who came out of Area 53. He is the "brother" in An Yu's mouth. He is the boy who subconsciously thinks of "bringing it to his brother" when buying bread in the main city. He failed to live the life he expected and failed to teach An Yu "bread, compassion, courage and love", but he used the fragments of his life to pave a road to hope for An Yu. In his short life, he saw the filthiest quagmire and upheld the hottest faith. He finally died in Area 53, where he was born and raised, and ended his life with the dignity of a soldier. The promises that have not been fulfilled and the scenery that has not been seen are the most vivid proof of human nature. Ling Qiu's regret was never "not being able to survive", but "not being able to go further with An Yu". He left the hope of "bread" to An Yu, planted the seeds of "courage" in An Yu's heart, and let An Yu continue to move forward in the wind and snow with his will. An Yu would later stop in front of the "Corner Bread" in the main city, and would think of him when eating pumpernickel bread, and would think of the phrase "be brave" when facing chaos.
