After Becoming a Substitute, I Got My Happy Ending With the Male Side Character

A quick note: This novel will not become a paid release. I rushed into writing it, and this is actually a premise I really love, but neither the characterization nor the writing turned out the way I wanted. What I've written has left me miserable and anxious, so updates will be casual from now on. If you've sent me a tip, you can contact me for a refund. I hope that after revising and reflecting, I can finish this novel better in the future. I'm sorry, everyone. *Bows.*

Shen Zhiqiu has been hopelessly in love with Prince Jing for years. She curbs her temper for him and would brave fire and water for his sake. Unfortunately, Prince Jing already has someone else in his heart. In their three years of marriage, he never touched her once, unmoved by everything she did for him.

Later, Prince Jing ascends the throne and finally gets to be with the woman he loves. Shen Zhiqiu, meanwhile, is stripped of her title as empress and banished to the Cold Palace.

From then on, Shen Zhiqiu gives up on that scumbag for good. To stay alive in the Cold Palace, she has no choice but to seduce Chi Xihou, the powerful eunuch who controls the Eastern Depot.

The rain that day was as heavy as the rain on the day Yiping went home to ask for money. Shen Zhiqiu stood in the downpour, looking pitiful as she asked, "Can't you show me a little affection, Director?"

Chi Xihou sneered. "Your acting is terrible, Your Highness."

Shen Zhiqiu thinks her attempt at seduction has failed and turns to leave in a huff. Suddenly, he pulls her into his arms and grips her chin. His voice is low and suggestive. "How would you like me to show you affection, Your Highness?"

Theme: Even in adversity, never bow to those in power. Have the courage to pursue love and freedom.
