The Shut-In Lady and the Hitman

Shen Fei is a freelance novelist and a textbook homebody. Her life philosophy is that anywhere she can't reach in her pajamas counts as far away. Going out to eat with a friend requires at least five days of mental preparation, and the only social outing she makes each month is one her mother extracts by threatening to kill herself.

On her twenty-eighth birthday, her boyfriend, whom she was about to marry, broke up with her unilaterally. Her family and friends were horrified. When their attempts to stop him failed, they began relentlessly pushing her to go on blind dates, even spending a fortune on a matchmaking agency.

Before long, the agency recommended a seemingly perfect match.

"Under thirty, works at an internationally renowned company, and is famous in his field."

"Well-traveled, has visited many countries, speaks several languages, and has a wide range of skills."

"Even-tempered, calm, and collected."

"Handsome."

Only after their whirlwind marriage did Shen Fei learn what her match had actually submitted to the agency.

"Under thirty, works for an internationally renowned mercenary company, and is famous in the hitman business."

"Well-traveled, has visited several war-torn countries, speaks several languages, and has a wide range of skills, including but not limited to handling weapons, planning tactics, hand-to-hand combat, and surveillance and counter-surveillance."

"Even-tempered: he can snap a criminal's neck with his bare hands without blinking. Calm and collected: afterward, he can dispose of the body without a fuss."

"Handsome... uh, can't argue with that one. He really is handsome."
