Wei's story, revised edition. For why the whole story is locked, see the text after the blurb.
Blurb:
[Transmigration, missions, and you can't die while on a mission. Each time, your identity and form as the mission-taker are different?
Wei, a former high school student, thinks this is pretty messed up.
But since she can't die, she has no other choice.
Magical girl, witch, familiar, Kyubey, ordinary person...
In the final loop, Wei witnessed the birth of a god.
The god blessed her.
"You're so strong, Wei. You could have avoided all this pain, but you worked so hard for us... If you ever become a magical girl again, you already have the chance to make a wish."
Wei thought of it as the ending CG for the world's perfect happy ending.
She never expected...
"Take me somewhere safe, or I'll call them back."
She transmigrated again, and a blonde kid latched onto her.
Was there an ulterior motive? Were they using each other? Had this all been planned?
In any case, the blonde kid eventually became her blonde companion, and Wei stamped her own personal seal of approval on the arrangement.
"You're so unreasonable," said the blonde companion, Vic, looking exasperated.
"Huh? It's not like you'd listen to reason anyway," said the black-haired girl, Wei, with complete confidence.
Besides, reality left no room for her reasons.
"Yeah, I like you. I can't kill you."
Then let her help him take revenge.
"Stop crying. It won't affect my normal life."
But you clearly look like you've given up on returning to a normal life, as if you plan to spend every remaining year of your life on revenge.
"Wei, don't kill yourself..."
That's why, that's why...
The ring, too: "I'm even willing to smile at you now, so accept it with a clear conscience. Let me absorb you and make you part of my power."
The rules, too: "I want to be able to grow stronger forever. No god can stop me, nothing above the gods can stop me, and no one can stop me."
Even death: "...Vic said he wants to be cremated."
She had already eaten his soul.
She said he was her companion, so she would keep his soul and body by her side, both safe and sound.
"Master, I'm thinking of taking the Hunter License Exam."
"Oh? You used to revolve around that boy. Now you've finally started revolving around yourself."
Revolve around someone else? No. From the start, she'd chosen to do it herself, even when her help and rescue were forced on him.]
To reduce the number of abandoned stories, because the overall story has already been fully planned out in outline form, and because I've always felt awful about not finishing Vic's ending, I'll write it gradually and replace the original with this revised version.
For each new chapter I write, I'll unlock one locked chapter.
Updates will be very, very slow. Nearly 80% of the characters in Vic's Hunter world are original, and the overall story is entirely original. It's almost completely unrelated to the original storyline, except that a few original characters will appear briefly. Compared with the original story, Wei's stress level in the revised version has at least tripled. To give her incredibly high stats, both mentally and in raw strength, I'll use an author's heavy hand to make her despair again and again and then temper her through it. The writing may be rather unrestrained.
(There probably aren't any readers left for this story anyway. I'm writing it just for myself.)
The Wei in [Genshin Impact: You, the Immortal, Are Picked Up by Scaramouche] is from the heavily revised original story. The Wei in [Huh? He's Not a Timid Male High Schooler] is from the further polished version of that rewrite.
