[Bungo Stray Dogs] The Rumored Yudai

My name is Yudai Qingming. I’m in Yokohama, and I just got out of the hospital. I was recently diagnosed with retrograde amnesia, and I now work at the Armed Detective Agency as a third-rate detective. I have all kinds of strange rumors surrounding me. They say I used to be a vicious, debauched villain who would kill and set fires without a second thought. To this day, Yokohama’s most powerful organization, the Port Mafia, still tells stories about how I acted with impunity after becoming an executive. They say I used to be a kind, disciplined person, honest, warm, and always happy to help. I maintained good relations with various law enforcement agencies and was even named an honorary citizen of Yokohama. They say I used to be a master of time management, wearing ten secret identities while meeting online dates in person all over the place. I said whatever suited whoever I was talking to, and fell in and out of love faster than lightning. They say I used to be a paranoid hypochondriac, suspecting myself, suspecting others, suspecting everything. I drove all my friends crazy, but they still thought I was a good person. They say I’m a bastard who makes people cry and laugh. They say I’m a liar who never tells the truth. I have no idea which of those odd characters they describe is really me. [The entire story is told in first person, with an unreliable narrative] The male lead is a shameless flirt. His personality is based on Merlin from FGO. Set in the world of Bungo Stray Dogs, with some elements from the SCP Foundation and various urban legends. This is a practice piece written in a very basic style. If there are any logical errors, it means the author has lost the plot. [Irregular updates] Theme: Break superstition and believe in science.
