Since We Were Young

When the levelheaded and rational Zhao Xun meets the dispassionate and desireless Du Congjian, he not only loses his mind, he doesn't even want to be human anymore!

For him, he's schemed against people, fought, taken a knife for him, jumped into a lake, lost his temper, and taken a beating. He's been in and out of the police station twice.

They meet, part, and reunite. They fell in love much earlier than either of them imagined.

Ever since they were boys, you have been the one I love. Across a thousand mountains, across ten thousand, we'll walk together under the same umbrella.

Blurb for "The Joy of Youth"

A science whiz who excels in every subject except English, where he scored just 32 points, manages to woo a fellow science whiz who excels across the board with his own broken English.

High-frequency vocabulary bears witness to their romance. One whiz memorizes words while the other gives him spelling tests. Before they know it, they're spelling their way from A to Z, falling in love as boys and staying in love into old age.

Ming Ci says: "Good thing I'm a good actor. I made my broken English sound convincing. Otherwise, how could I have won over a top student in my year and made him my lifelong partner?"

Xi Yinshu ponders this for a long time, wondering whether to tell him that he figured out ages ago that the other guy was only pretending to be bad at some subjects. Should he spare him the embarrassment?
