The Book of Heavenly Offices

"You go gaze at the stars. I'll sweep away the dust of this world."

CP: An extraordinary bottom who carries a lantern through the world, never forgets the starry sky, and presses forward to level mountains and fill seas x a cunning, dark-hearted top whose reason and madness switch seamlessly, the designated heir to the throne

[Synopsis]

At the dawn of a dynasty, the court has a sickly crown prince who dotes on his concubines and refuses marriage proposals.

It also has a junior official at the Bureau of Astronomy whose predictions are usually wrong, but when they are right, they spell doom.

The officials fear that if the sickly prince crosses paths with the death-dealing fortune-teller, both will meet their end. Little do they know that the pair have already been secretly working together, ready to take on the world.

[What to Know]

· This is a fictional setting. Overall, the romance takes up more space than the plot.

· This novel is also known as "The Court of Judicial Review" ("The Book of Celestial Offices" is taken from Records of the Grand Historian). The protagonist is both an astronomical official at the Bureau of Astronomy and a judicial reviewer at the Court of Judicial Review, his main role in investigating cases. The historical setting has been reimagined, so please forgive any historical inaccuracies. (I might get tired of revising and stop trying to be historically accurate.)

· The romance is very swoony, and neither protagonist is entirely normal.

· The plot is wildly imaginative and scientifically implausible.

· Multiple perspectives means we get the perspectives of both the top and bottom, as well as the protagonists and supporting characters.
