Arrogant and Overbearing

Ling Xiao had always felt that the whole world had abandoned him.

Everyone seemed to like him.

But everyone also seemed not to like him.

Inside him lay a vast, barren desert, where the sun and moon fell silent, the stars faded away, and darkness stretched without end.

To others, he was so beautiful it was dangerous. Yet when they came closer, they became so cautious and afraid...

Everyone except Sheng Qing.

She was two-faced, Ling Xiao thought when he first met her.

On the surface, she was gentle and soft, but inside she was rational and cold.

Her natural intelligence let her look down on everything in the world.

And yet her eyes were full of passion, like a light that would never go out.

She said that flowers could bloom in everyone's heart...

She said not to be too hostile toward the world...

She said, "Get up and look at the sunset by the sea. Don't wait until it gets dark..."

Ling Xiao thought perhaps he could take her hand and let her plant a seed in his heart.

But he never imagined that the seed would spread and grow wildly, blooming into a black flower.

She was so rational, so heartless, so willing to stop at nothing...

Behind every act of tenderness was a secret, and behind every expression of love was a lie.

He was covered in wounds, but he couldn't bear to pull out the only flower in his heart.

The only life in a barren desert, watered with her heart's blood, protected by her body, and prayed for every day... He couldn't bear to lose it.

That was what Ling Xiao thought.
