My Ex-Husband Regretted Our Divorce

[My new novel, Beauty's Grace, is currently updating. The next one I'll start is The Heir's Beloved Concubine Ran Away.]

Blurb: Wen Rui lost her mother when she was young, and later her father died in an accident. Si Ce was the only person she could rely on.

She followed him into the Si household, changed her name, forgot her past, and tried her best to become a shadow, all so she could stay by Si Ce's side.

Life under someone else's roof brought plenty of grievances, but Wen Rui never complained. She only hoped to remain Si Ce's little shadow forever, following close behind him.

She did his homework, took the blame for him, and suffered scoldings and beatings in his place. When the Si family pressured him to marry, she even sacrificed herself and married him, content to be nothing more than a wife who served his needs.

For the first twenty-odd years of Wen Rui's life, she had no self of her own. There was only Si Ce. He was her entire world.

Si Ce naturally believed the same, and deliberately or not, he ignored his wife.

Until one day, his invisible wife asked him for a divorce.

-

His little shadow of so many years suddenly wanted to rebel. Si Ce didn't take it seriously. A shadow was a shadow. How could she leave her master?

He never expected Wen Rui to leave and never come back.

Then one day, sitting alone in a dim corner of a theater, he watched Wen Rui perform a comedy set onstage. Radiant and full of life, she delivered her jokes as if she were a different person.

"We don't match in status, and without some skills you'll just suffer. You're a good person, but I'm not the one. Forget me, there's always someone else."

Si Ce...

He used to think people could live without shadows. Now he knew that without his little shadow, he couldn't live at all.

Theme: Love helps people grow and become better.
