In a nutshell: The diary of Lydia, a refined young lady, living in Africa :)
Chapters 28-40 are already-published chapters. If you've read them, little angels, please don't buy them again!
Lighthearted blurb:
Proud and rebellious Lydia has been spoiled her whole life. Her dream is to marry a rich man, wear elegant, exquisite dresses, and attend balls everywhere.
But then she's bound to a "hardworking and dependable" System.
Lydia: Can I say no??
[Ding! A friendly reminder from the System: If you don't complete your task, you may randomly trigger a multi-day trip to Africa~]
Lydia: What's Africa? A prince's palace?
Then she gets to experience the joys of being scorched by the African sun.
Advertisement: Ever since I got bound to an all-purpose System, my back doesn't ache, my legs don't hurt, and I can carry ten buckets of water in one go. Mom never has to worry that I won't find a husband again~
Lydia: Haha, you're right :)
Lydia: After all, my would-be suitor ran off when he saw me carry ten buckets of water in one hand without even getting out of breath :)
Darcy: Actually, I didn't...
Serious blurb:
This is the story of Lydia striving to become a better person, with her four sisters by her side.
"I once longed for a gilded cage, thinking only it could match my noble bearing. But when I awoke from a dream, I realized that no amount of gold could compare to the wings that let me fly free." - Wozhijishuode
1. The original story has been heavily adapted, but the original characters aren't vilified. Lydia's pairing is with Darcy, and her older sister will find another good match. Updated daily, usually at 9 p.m. Please excuse any missed updates!
2. By day, a lady in the Victorian era; by night, mining in Africa.
2. OOC, extremely OOC. If you take this seriously, you've already lost.
3. Truly an alternate universe. No historical research here; the timeline has been altered beyond imagination.
4. Works currently planned for inclusion: Pride and Prejudice, She, Jane Eyre, Titanic, The Count of Monte Cristo, Gone with the Wind, and Wuthering Heights.
5. The poem in the blurb is my own invention, and I made the cover myself.

Coming soon, listed on my author page: Building Houses in the Worlds of Classic Literature
In a nutshell: What should a balding architect do in the worlds of classic literature?
Kelsey: a curious soul who can spend all night with a lamp, a pot of wine, and a set of architectural plans.
Ever since taking over her father's post as court architect and inheriting his noble title, she's either going bald or on the verge of it.
Kelsey: Thanks, I'm going bald just thinking about it.
This goes on until she's invited by another noblewoman, Mrs. de Bourgh, to design a newlywed home for her nephew.
Only when Kelsey arrives does she discover that the gentleman who fell out with his aunt is none other than Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Kelsey: Well, would you look at that!
Then she finds a cousin named Jane Eyre on her doorstep, and the young genius she brought back from France turns out to be the Phantom!
Julien and the Count of Monte Cristo also come to her, drawn by her reputation, and become some of her clients!
Wait, where did they get all that money???
Kelsey: Shouldn't this book be called "Building Things in the World of Classic Literature"?
Task 1: Build a home for the newlyweds, the Darcys.
Task 2: Teach her cousin Jane Eyre the basics of architecture.
Task 3: Attend the annual gathering of the French architectural society.
Task 4...
Kelsey: Got it. My hair goes, my heart goes, my life goes.
1. The original works are heavily adapted, but their pairings won't be broken up. Any OOC characterization is on me.
2. You don't need to have read the originals to enjoy this. The setting draws on Victorian-era Europe, but it's definitely an alternate universe.
3. A lighthearted, cozy everyday-life fanfic, just for fun. The main plot is building all kinds of houses, with Jane Eyre, The Phantom of the Opera, Pride and Prejudice, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Red and the Black, and more.
4. The author isn't an architect and didn't do too well in architectural history. Please point out any errors kindly.
Theme: Take pride in hard work, and be ashamed of idleness.
I'm rather happy with this chapter. Lydia has always been the most reckless daughter in the family. After broadening their horizons, women's awareness of independence has completely awakened. They rejected Darcy simply and neatly. The matter of marriage completely transcended the social values of the time. Isn't this something that should make people happy? Profoundly reflects the importance of education 233333
It's great that all five girls have a chance to break free.
Every time I watch "Wuthering Heights", I feel that Heathcliff is really sick and mentally ill. You see, I can remember this guy's name. I guess I scolded him a lot when I was watching it.
Hahahahaha, the words are so cute~ Lydia: My little friend, do you have a lot of questions? Hot guy ran away after flirting with someone!
The water in emm's head when she refused is the tears she shed now when she proposes, hahahahahahahahaha, Lydia: Jumping left and right to test. Jpg
The five sisters have all become outstanding girls, independent, self-reliant, and determined. I like this.
Didn't read the next chapter but... Wait? Why don't you speed up and hit an ice cube first?
. Hahahahahahahaha free America
The if line reminds me of Mary Kingsley, she is one of my goddesses.
Hahaha, okay, okay, I suspect Darcy is up to something big.
